KAVU - The true outdoor wear from Seattle, USA

KAVU demands itself to be more than a company. KAVU is a lively philosophy and lifestyle. KAVU is worldwide known as a premium cutting edge company, known for its forward thinking, precision, consistency, service, quality and the very unique way of doing things.

The KAVU lifestyle is defined by any possible activity, happiness, unconventional thinking, never ending athleticism and living each day to its fullest.  A KAVU day is an active day packed with more motion, tasks, memories, laughs and smiles than ever thought possible.

By official means, KAVU was founded 1993 in Seattle, but birth was given back even further.

KAVU founder Barry Barr and his father Bruce Barr, were living the KAVU lifestyle, which finally inspired the brand.

"Get up, it's a KAVU day!" echoed before sunrise through the Barrs home and always meant a father and sons day loaded with adventure. Fishing, camping, flying their bush plane, skiing and biking were some of their loved acitivities. But the fun first started after some hard work was put in to install a work ethic and a lust for life.

At age 16 Barry thought that commercial fishing in the rough seas of Alaska seems to be his future, but by coincidence and eventually became the breeding ground for the KAVU company and the very first and revolutionary product, the Strapcap. In 1996 Barry gave up fishing and moved KAVU into a warehouse in Seattle. In 2001 the first flagship store opened and still lives today. Since the days a wide range of innovative products were introduced, still popular to this day.

Now, the KAVU brand is a sought after outdoor classic, still being stoked by the founding spirit and the Barrs work ethics.
