FLOWER MOUNTAIN - Footwear inspired by creative ideas, trekking and music
The initial idea of FLOWER MOUNTAIN originated from a meeting of the designers Mr. Keisuke Ota from Tokyo and Mr. Yang Chao from Beijing. Discovering that they share a common passion for mountain trekking, music and footwear.
With that much in common, a friendship was the closest outcome and they decided to visit the Mount Fuji "Fuji Rock Festival”, where the idea of designing a functional and attractive shoe called FLOWER MOUNTAIN was born.
In 2015 they sat the foundation for their brand together with Federica Wang, establishing the Dandelion mountaineering association which later was transfirmed into Breath Design co. Ltd Tokyo. The designers Chao and Ota, shorthand K, then started designing their first shoe collection.
Soon ShoesBar Beijing and HPF in Tokyo immediately embraced the project. The response by the public was enthusiastic and opend doors to join forces and world wide expanding. In 2016 the Breath Design team, ShoesBar and Falc S.p.A introduced FLOWER MOUNTAIN to international markets and took the brand to a whole new level.
Having built a powerful team, FLOWER MOUNTAIN entered the option of using the most advanced technical and production know-how on the market. Based on Italian tradition and numerous marketing specialists a widespread international distribution network was established.
The founding Designers, Yang Chao and Keisuke Ota are at the passionate heart of the FLOWER MOUNTAIN brand philosophy and collection.
Yang Chao is 41 years old and is one of the most famous designers in China. Living in Bejing he started in 1998 to design and create shoes and became head designer for international brands.
Keisuke Ota was born and raised in Tokyo and began his career in 2001 as a self-taught shoe designer, creating many collections for both Japanese and international brands. Since than, Keisuke is well known for his passion for materials and attention to detail. He started working with Yang Chao in 2014 and is one of the co-founders of Breath Design Ltd. Tokyo.

FLOWER MOUNTAIN is a play- and colorful collection of sneakers and trekking shoes, which are ready to hike anytime and anywhere around the world. The detailed design in combination with the functional needs of hikking and light climbing put the collection in a unique position and niche of its own. Technical sneakers like YAMANO or WASHI are signature styles of the FLOWER MOUNTAIN collection.
