IVY ELLIS - From the kitchentable straight to the Ivy League

The IVY ELLIS story is kind of a modern Cinderella tale, both start around a kitchen and find a happy end......

In 2020 the most of us are ordered to sit in their homes due to a pendemic lockdown. Equiped with plenty of time and looking for occupation and alternation, so do the founders of IVY ELLIS .

We don't know as by coincidence or intentional, but it's said, that a package of markers played a decisive role in drawings of the first sketches of socks at the kitchentable, which might be the birth of IVY ELLIS.

Inspired by vintage sports clothing and the so called Ivy League (see below), project IVY ELLIS soon developed in a promising way, far beyond the tight framed kitchentable and the founders expectations.  

Raised in the 1980s and inspired by authentic, american sports apparel the brand IVY ELLIS took off.

Varsity fonts and the typical colors of the big american college and pro franchises, as well as the teams charismatic stars leave their stamp on the timeless designs of IVY ELLIS.

By personal reasons production and manufacturing of IVY ELLIS products should stay in Great Britain, what led the brand to their quality seal Made in Scotland.

A small, family driven factory located in the scotish highlands was slected for the production. Big enough to handle the growing numbers of the authentic and meanwhile worldwide loved socks, but also small enough to be able to react on limited editions. 

The Ivy League: a fusion of 8 renowned private universitys in the north east United States. The members of the Ivy League are the universities Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Brown, Dartmouth, University of Pennsylvania and the Cornell University. At first founded to form a sports league in the mid 1950s, the Ivy League today is synonymous highest excellence and academic elite.
